A small spring trip is perfect for a little recharge before the exhausting end of the school year push. These ideas are overnight, day trips and affordable for those of us in baseball and saving for a summer vacation. Y’all know I avoid crowds so theses are low crowd spring break options. Kentucky Road Trip
Kentucky is a beautiful state with gently rolling pastures filled with thoroughbred horses. The pastures give way forests, and rugged mountainous areas that surround trendy cities in this southern, centrally located state. Road tripping through Kentucky brings horse races, The Ark, Louisville’s Bat Museum, Zoos, and Mammoth Cave. Kentucky is also home to bluegrass music, bourbon, and Kentucky Fried Chicken. A side goal was to mark Kentucky, Ohio, and Indiana off the list of states to visit.

Callaway Gardens
Callaway Gardens is the best trip for bike riding through flowers in the spring. After the bird show and butterflies, Pine Mountain has plenty to explore with local art shops, an animal safari, or a stroll through historical sites. Whether it’s the unique stores, outdoor peace, or the food, this place keeps drawing me back. It’s one of the best weekend destinations, just 90 minutes from Atlanta.
