HEY Y’ALL, WELCOME!!
I’m a boy mom rolling through life, planning family adventures on my lunch break.
If you dream of family memories in Yellowstone, Alaska, visiting all 50 states, or fun weekend trips, I’m here to help you chase those dreams.
I’m a full-time pharmacist with athletic schedules to plan around, so my area of expertise is long weekend trips and visiting small-town America in the South. I chase off-the-beaten path destinations to avoid crowds. I raised my boys Disney style with yearly trips, so I know Disney.
My first love was the beach, and we are still happily in love, so beach trips are my therapy. We go for weeks every year so I can help you avoid the crowds.
The Back Seat View is focused on traveling with family at a slower pace, middle-class type budget, and FUN-focused itinerary.
I wrote a blog to provide years of research and vacation information to help families make memories traveling.
My favorite travel tip is to leave extra time to provide flexibility for the “Highlight” of the vacation. Travel requires flexibility for weather and sickness, so don’t overpack that trip itinerary.
I plan, plan, and then roll with the vacation, completing half the plans.
I have been curious about the world as long as I can remember.
In the 5th grade, my teacher asked the class to develop 5 Life Goals.
Listening to everyone’s marriage, kids, and career goals, I realized my goals differed.
Y’all, where did a 10 year old girl who rarely left Alabama come up with these Life Goals?
- See the turtles in the Galapagos Islands (insufficient funds)
- Visit all 50 States (almost)
- Spend a month in Hawaii (complete)
- Backpack through Europe (missed that in my 20’s)
- Visit Peru (to see the mountains and the ruined city)
Well, I kept this list as a reminder to do something on MY BUCKET LIST EVERY YEAR and not lose my dreams in the crazy life of taking care of my family. Traveling expands my soul, mind, and heart, so I will always take that trip, which is why my husband has his own bank account.
I spend my life in the back seat, everyone needs more leg room than me. That’s where the BACKSEAT VIEW came from.
While you are waiting for practice to be over, let’s plan that trip.
Thanks for stopping by, and Y’all come back!
Carrie
P.S. This is a NEW site, so it’s a work in progress.
